About Us

The North West Pentahlon Hub provides coaching and competitions through both Biathle (open water and pool) alongside Triathle, Laser Run and Tetrathlons. The Hub has sent up links across the North West with fencing and riding stables to create further opportunities for training and developing race series and residential camps.

We welcome beginners and advanced athletes aged 7 years old to Masters 70+ to train and compete. Our atheletes range from beginners to seasoned international medallists and world champions. Our History

The North West Pentathlon Hub was established in 1999 by the Rowley family who were based out of Fleetwood swimming club as Biathle Hub providing run-swim-run training for a small group of athletes who had qualified through the 1999 National Biathle Championships to the World Championships. Each year the hub grew attracting more and more families and range of athletes from swimmers, runners and triathletes from Lancaster to Blackpool.

In 2011 Dr Nic Rowley (now Robinson) took over form her parents and took the hub to the next level as an Official PentathlonGB Club also getting on board new volunteer coaches and setting up a committee and forming a constitution to help attract more funding and athletes across the North West.

In 2019 the hub evolved again with increasing members, and now a wide range of multi-sport combination option provided by the governing body the hub adopted the new name North West Pentathlon Hub which now provides coaching and competitions through not only Biathle (open water and pool) but Triathle, Laser Run and Tetrathlons and set up links across the north west with fencing and riding stables to create opportunities for more training, developing race series and providing residential camps.

In 2022 the hub also started doing some outreach projects with schools, scouts and athletics clubs which has been fantastic to spread the word about the sport!

In 2023 we face the unexpected changing of the horse jumping to obstacle course ninja warrior style sprint discipline to also add into the mix of training provisions with 3 full coaches, 2 development coaches, training across 4 venues and 6 key races in the North West over the year the hub is an established powerhouse of multi-sport talent in the north. Our athletes range from beginners to seasonal international medallists and world champions and those now on the Pentathlon GB performance pathway.

"Graduates" from our hub have gone onto the World Class Pathway Pentathlon GB, TASS scholarships, GB & Ireland international representation in Modern Pentathlon as well as developing local coaches, lifeguards and volunteers.

We look forward to welcoming you to the North West Pentahlon Hub!
